As we prepare for this time of Thanksgiving I can’t help but count the many blessings the year has brought me, my family, and my business. I have so many things to be thankful for this year it’s impossible to count them all. I started a month of documenting things I’m thankful for this month- you can follow them on my instagram feed-HARTSDESIRE. And while I didn’t keep up or post something everyday, not a day went by when I wasn’t thankful for something- big or little. What I noticed in doing this project was the more I started documenting the more I found be thankful for. It was a very humbling project, one that I hope to continue throughout the year.
One of the things I am most thankful for this year besides the obvious that revolves around my family, is all of you. If you had told me 3 years ago that I would be starting a photography business I would’ve accused you of being crazy. It’s funny how your life changes. Photography has brought so much joy and even balance to my life. I have always been a creative person, dabbling in all sorts of mediums. But I feel like I finally found my calling in photography. To capture beautiful moments between family members is something I have enjoyed so much over the past year. It brings me happiness to provide priceless photographs to my clients that I know will be treasured for years to come.
I have big things planned for 2013 and I have all of YOU to thank for it. Because of you and all of your awesomeness I booked myself full for 2012. Thank you for hiring me to capture your beautiful families and special times in your life. Thank you for coming to this site and viewing and commenting on past sessions. Thank you for giving me lots of love on Facebook and telling your friends and family about me. THANK YOU.
I wish you and your families a wonderful day of Thanksgiving. As I finish up this weekend with my final sessions of 2012 I can’t help but reflect and be grateful for everything you all have done for me and my business.
I plan on taking the month of December off to spend time with family enjoying our Christmas traditions. I will still be posting the remaining sessions of 2012 and will try to share a few DIY and home décor related posts-it’s been WAY to long since I’ve posted any! One of the greatest gifts photography has brought to me this year, besides being able to capture beautiful moments, is that it’s given me the gift to catch up with friends I haven’t seen in years.
When Beth contacted me to set up a family session, I was thrilled to be able to catch up with her. I haven’t seen her in over 12 years! So much has happened to both of us since High School, it was a great chance to catch up and meet her wonderful family.
We decided to do her session at Moose Apple Christmas Tree Farm in Berryville, VA. If anyone is looking for a Christmas Tree farm to cut your tree this year, I highly recommend this farm. In addition to the great views and BEAUTIFUL trees, they also have a gift shop where most of the items are made by family members right on the farm!
And we thought this little guy was going to be the shy one!!

I’ve been hoarding these pictures for a few weeks waiting for Molly to share the album we created for her hubby’s birthday. We had such a blast during this shoot, I’m so excited to do more of this genre of photography.
For anyone wondering, I have not and will not share anything on this site that a client has not already given me the go-ahead. Boudoir is beautiful, but it is also very personal.

I got to 2nd shoot this beautiful wedding in Madison, VA last month. The reception was held at the groom’s family’s home. With rolling hills, cows, and horses in the background. It was just a beautiful day with beautiful weather. You couldn’t have asked for more!
I just had to do an impromptu shoot with these cuties.
