OBX on the Corova 4×4 beach. 4 families. 9 kids. 2 dogs. An amazing vacation.
Those early days in the beginning of the week were so humid. Even first thing in the morning while I sat on the porch with coffee trying to read a book before the house woke up.
I didn’t start taking any pictures until that second day. The first day on the beach was about relaxing and letting go. The dogs were so wiped out after that first day, they barely got off the floor!
The horses were right in our backyard some days.
Little “L” is telling one of her infamous stories.
She hated the sand in the beginning of the week
Making ‘drippy’ castles
Every night the lightening was incredible.
We were only about 2 miles or so away from the VA line.
Right before the wave took them out!
We already had our vacation plans set to go to the beach in June, but when an opportunity came up to spend an extra week at the beach? and at a beautiful sound-side home? we’d have to have been crazy to turn that down!
The most beautiful ‘non beach’ beach house I’ve ever set foot in.
It was originally a hunting/fishing lodge. The house has been restored and remodeled. The owners kept as much original as they could.
Original wood floors. Even the numbers on the old lodge doors were kept.
The ‘softest blanket ever’ was a gift right before this trip. He has slept with it every night since it was given to him.
What came first? The horses or the people? It’s hard to tell as the horses aren’t bothered by people at all.
These guys were literally right outside our door and crabbed all day. We were lucky enough to get almost a bushel of crabs before they hit the fish markets.
I find it amusing the things he decides to ‘collect’. He was fascinated with the crab claws.
Redneck kite flying
We went on vacation in September to the beach. I’ve been busy editing client sessions and was able to get a few of ours done this week and I thought I’d share a few…
This guy had a blast on the beach
This guy is learning to ride a bike. We got him a balance bike with no pedals and it’s amazing how quickly he has caught on.
He loved watching the workers try to pull a stump out of the ground with a lawn tractor while we were in line for the Lighthouse.
I’ll share more once I get a chance to even get them off the camera disk!
Have a great Friday and weekend; It’s going to be a beautiful weekend. I’ve got a few sessions that I’m stoked about doing!
